The purpose of the Applied Project Management course is to reinforce key concepts covered in the Project Management program, and to provide the learner the opportunity to use these skills in creating a project plan via a case study completed as a group activity. The Case study will be pre-selected by the learners via a survey, selected from various sized projects in all areas of urban and rural community development, urban design, environment, transportation, health and social services, housing, and economic development. The Case study will require the learner to look at all aspects of project planning, including the creation of a charter, scope management, stakeholder management, risk management and communication.
By the end of this session participants will be able to:

Identify the key concepts of project planning

Relate specific concepts required for developing a project plan

Use project management templates and tools.
